Why us
The fastest way to ruin a heritage building is to treat it like a new one — cement plaster over lime, sealed surfaces on walls that need to breathe, and a facade cleaned until it looks like nothing.
Conservation starts with documentation and diagnosis: what the building is made of, how it was put together, and why the damage happened. Only then does it make sense to decide what to repair, what to replace, and what to leave alone.

In detail
Many of Nagpur’s older buildings — in the old city around Mahal, and the colonial-era fabric of Civil Lines and Sitabuldi — were built with lime mortar and lime plaster. Lime lets a wall breathe: moisture that gets in can also get out.
Some of the worst damage comes from well-meant repairs in cement. Cement plaster traps moisture inside a lime wall, the wall stays damp, and the brick and original plaster behind it begin to crumble. What looks like a repair speeds up the decay.
Good conservation reverses that: remove the incompatible material, let the wall dry out, and repair with a lime that matches the original. It is slower and more specialised, but it is the difference between a building that lasts another century and one that has to be rebuilt.

Yes, carefully. Services, lighting and comfort can be introduced with reversible interventions that do not damage the historic fabric. The principle is that a later generation should be able to undo what we add.

It can cost more per square foot because of specialist materials and slower techniques, but it retains a value that cannot be rebuilt. We quote both honestly so you can decide with real numbers.
